Conflictus comes from the Latin conflictare, meaning to strike together, often frequently, forcibly, or violently. The English derivative conflict, means to come into collision or disagreement; be contradictory, at variance, or in opposition; to clash.
The name of our journal reflects not only our mission, but the pervasive and persistent nature of the subject matter itself. Conflict has existed throughout history, and in many cases, is the primary proponent behind the recording of history. We’re simply doing our part to keep the record going.
